Dr. Honar Issa, from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, is a distinguished academic and higher education leader with expertise in structural engineering, structural optimization, and biomechanics. He serves as Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Accrediting Association for Education (KAAE) and as Member and Secretary of the Board of Trustees at the American University of Kurdistan (AUK), where he also previously held the positions of Provost and Acting President. With extensive teaching and administrative experience in both Kurdistan and the United Kingdom, Dr. Issa has played a pivotal role in advancing academic quality and institutional development. In addition, he contributes globally as a program evaluator for ABET and a peer evaluator for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), reflecting his commitment to international standards of excellence in education.

Saladin Institute is an British _ Kurdish Institute (BKI) that focus on research and educational organization based in London.

The BKI’s mission is to increase public awareness of Kurdish issues, protect human, cultural, and political rights throughout Kurdistan, support and develop Kurdistan’s civil society, improve and increase access to Kurdish cultural and educational resources, and advocate for effective solutions to Kurd-related issues. The Saladin Institute works in a variety of ways to achieve its mission. It conducts research on Kurdish issues, publishes reports and articles, organizes conferences and events, and provides educational resources on Kurdish culture and history. The BKI  also advocates for Kurdish rights at the UK. government and international levels.
