For 100 years, in Turkey and North Kurdistan, there have been widespread attacks on all areas of Kurdish identity. Special attacks on the Kurdish language! Dozens of projects have been organized against the Kurdish language. Speaking in Kurdish has been punished, even with money. Projects to denigrate the Kurdish language have been implemented. Every effort has been made to make the policy of assimilation win against Kurds and Kurds! But, even after 100 years, this policy has not succeeded and Kurdish has survived as a living language until today!
Cultural/Language Genocide!
In the political dictionary, actions against identity, culture and language are defined as cultural/language Genocide! Platforms and international organizations stand against this inhuman act with agreements! But, in the reality of the Kurdish language, Kurdish survival did not find such support! On the contrary, against the policy of assimilation and cultural genocide against the Kurds, the world did not see and remained silent!
The Kurdish people, Kurdish community, Kurdish parents took care of their culture/culture and language! In this way, the cultural/language genealogy did not succeed against Kurds/Kurds!
The origin of the Kurdish language
With the passage of information technology, the attacks against the Kurdish language received another context! With 100 television channels, cinemas and other information technology equipment – in addition, the ban on using them in Kurdish language in Turkey and northern Kurdistan has made it so that it has a negative impact on the Kurdish language.
However, in the last 10-20 years, the development of Kurdish media, as well as the emergence of social media and its widespread use by Kurds, prevented attacks. According to many surveys, the demand for the use of the Kurdish language among Kurdish youth in North Kurdistan is widespread!
Kurdish language selection campaign
In recent years, especially the Kurdish Language Movement (HezKurd), the Kurdish Language Platform (PZK), with the support of Kurdish institutions, organizations and media, have been conducting very active campaigns in the selection process of the Kurdish language choice. Students of grades 5-6-7-8 have the right to choose the option – mother tongue. Kurdish children, Kurdish families should use this right in a broad way. According to many studies, children based on their mother tongue – can be successful in the fields of learning other languages, acquiring knowledge in a deep and wide way, personal strength! Parents in North Kurdistan and Turkey should give their children the power to choose the Kurdish language!
In addition, special Kurdish institutions and organizations ask their members and supporters to choose the Kurdish language for their children. The Kurdish media also gave great support to this process.
